The Real Estate Roundtable is a non-profit public policy association in Washington, D.C. that works on open policy issues affecting the real estate industry. The Roundtable's policy issue center includes specific issues such as terrorism insurance and pension modification, beside with issues in the areas of capital and credit, environment and energy, homeland security and tax policy.
The Roundtable is concerned in working on public policy issues on behalf of the profitable real estate industry. It is not a real estate group. Moreover, the organization should not be perplexed with The Real Estate Roundtable of San Francisco or the UC Real Estate Roundtable Program.
The Roundtable publishes numerous comment letters to legislators and policy-makers. It also generates a sequence of policy-oriented, regular publications and contributes to a monthly publication called Real Estate Forum. Roundtable Weekly is weekly policy news absorb posted online every Friday evening. Its main focus is policy news affecting the real estate business. It informs members of applicable actions taken by policy-makers and the Roundtable. Roundtable Weekly also serves to notify members of upcoming events, take surveys and carry out other two-way communications.
The Real Estate Roundtable publishes a yearly policy agenda to tell the industry, policymakers and the public concerning public policy issues affecting real estate and the economy. A characteristic annual report is the 2006 Annual Report. In these reports, the Roundtable presents a synopsis of the year's issues, events and actions undertaken, highlighting successes and good fortune. CEO and President Jeff DeBoer has a bimonthly column on issues pertaining to the profitable real estate industry. While the Roundtable must assume quite a bit of original research to complete their mission of influencing public policy they also partner with their members and some other interested parties to collect and current information on the real estate industry.
